BNG is the world’s first statutory market for biodiversity.

February 2024 - the UK government implemented Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
Developers must now deliver a BNG of 10% to ensure the natural environment is left
in a measurably better state than before the development takes place.

This applies to:

Residential
Commercial
Infrastructure

If developers cannot achieve BNG on their own sites, they will have to
make off-site gains by using off-site biodiversity units. Off-site means
outside the red line boundary of the development that has planning
permission requiring BNG.

We estimate that 50% of BNG units
will need to be purchased off-site.
This is where we come in.

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)

We provide a high-integrity offsite solution for developers.

We create and sell BNG units to developers. Providing off-site Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) units, primarily focussed on London and the Southeast, ensuring the diverse mix of habitat types in our target locations.

Our Projects

Wealden BNG Habitat Bank

51 acres of rolling, underutilised pastureland — difficult to farm yet ideally suited for a biodiversity project. Situated on a B-Line and key local wildlife corridors, the site also forms a headwater catchment, with ancient woodland weaving through it.
Tunbridge Wells + Ashford BNG Habitat Bank

69 acres of ex-arable, low-grade Wealden pasture with woodland shaws, ponds, and an ancient orchard, all being restored. This land holds wonderful potential for reviving biodiversity.
Horsham BNG Habitat Bank

34-acres of surplus land where existing habitats will be restored and new ones created. Nature Impact is overseeing the design and planning stage and promoting the BNG project on behalf of a landowner.
Wiltshire BNG Habitat Bank

A 56-acre woodland and grassland restoration project. Nature Impact is overseeing the design and planning stage and promoting the BNG project on behalf of a landowner.
